These Random Images…
And only a few in monochrome!
Nothing like cat pictures to start things off. (Although I have heard it said that a serious photographer should never show pictures of cats!) Yes, she is learning to hang out on the leash–although far from actually walking peacefully along on a leash as a dog might, she leads, we follow…

So… I’m pondering a possible idea for a fun, new photo project. How about “Urinals of Catalunya“, ha! I think it would have to be in color, given some pretty ones I have seen. It would make for a nice coffee table book, don’t you think? Three such examples…

A second potential project came to mind with this first street photo of an anonymous leg and a shoe. Where else could I find similar subject matter? Where else might I find interesting combinations of feet and legs? Ah, yes, in the Metro (“The Underground”, or the subway)! So, the other three pics are experiments to see if I could even surreptiously do this kind of photography–not showing faces, just trying to tell a story of urban life via the lower extremities… that is, what people wear, what they carry, unusual postures, what they do with their hands… perhaps, wounds or weird injuries or tatoos, and so on. Sort of a documentary project of daily human life in a big city. It will take some time to come up with a collection of such images that really show off something unique in each frame…

Ah, the wonderful luck that she was wearing a red blouse! I liked the color palette and the loneliness of the composition…

Another one in which the color and composition came together in a way I liked–lines, squares, rectangles and rounds, with curving shadows…

Sort of a generic urban landscape of the abandoned three chimneys of la Central Tèrmica de Sant Adrià de Besòs on the south edge of Barcelona. Some day, the area will be developed into a sports/civic/shopping/exercise/beach center. I liked the contrast of the lone human bean walking through the “jungle” in the foreground…

Lastly, this was a fun one. I took the x-ray of my hand (with broken thumb) and placed it up against my blank computer screen (the Google search page) and then taped Patrick Star (of Sponge Bob Squarepants fame) to the x-ray…
