On returning to previously visited places, or not

I have heard some folks something like, “No need to go back to Yosemite…I have already done photography there.” Insert into the phrase any other location where you have already made photographs.I am finding that things are never the same when you go back to previously visited locations…

–The light isn’t the same.

–The weather isn’t the same.

–You don’t always go back to exactly the same place within a particular area (even if it is a very small area).

–Your equipment (tools) may not be the same.

–And more importantly, you may not be the same in terms of your mood and how you are seeing.

So, don’t worry about repeat visits to photo op locations. Keep going back! (It works if you work it!) You’ll be pleasantly surprised about the different kinds of images you will make each time.
