I am surprised this lake has not yet frozen over as the temps over the past five days have been mostly below freezing and even down into the below zero range. The mist is caused by the relatively still-warm water meeting the frigid air mass above. There is nothing like warm sunrise light and lingering fog to help with the creation of a photograph.
And those ducks–can you see them out there on the cruise? Surely they will start losing their swimming holes soon–including this one–so why aren’t they at their local Flight Service Station filing their southbound flight plans?
